Loving and Appreciating Yourself

Self-Care:

Is taking care of yourself emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Self-care can mean different things to different individuals. It all depends on what your self-care needs are and what you enjoy doing that brings you a sense of contentment.

Self-care requires discipline.

What is discipline? The Oxford Dictionary says train oneself to do something in a controlled and habitual way. What does habitual mean? Doing something consistently or as a habit, regularly or usually.

So if we are going to practice self-care one way we can begin is to start with healthy eating. Self-care means taking care of yourself emotionally, physically, and spiritually. When we practice healthy eating we feel better emotionally, physically and spiritually. Many times changing one aspect has an effect on other aspects of our life.

Becoming consistent (disciplined) is key to self-care. When we are consistent we develop a pattern

and process that will lead to effective self-care. If we keep doing the same things in the same way, we will keep getting the same results. If we are not happy with our results, we will have to change the habits that are making us unhappy. We have to RETHINK the habits of our eating. If we know that too much fat and sugar is not good for us we have to CHANGE.

STOP – BREATHE – ADJUST AND CHANGE
